Deadline approaching for Emo art camp

The deadline for youth to enroll in the River Theatre’s Summer Musical Theatre Program is fast approaching.
“I want to let people know the deadline is Friday [July 20] and we need more participants. We need about 15 to run the camp,” said Renee Martin, the camp’s music director.
The camp, which is scheduled to run July 30-Aug. 9, is open to all youth from across the district between the ages of eight and 15.
It will offer youth the chance to learn and improve their dancing, singing, and acting skills under the tutelage of Martin, who is a piano and voice instructor and director of the Emo Centennial Choir, Erin Bree Pierce, a professional voice instructor and performer with the Mississauga Opera Company, and Chantelle Johnson, owner/operator of Dancemakers and Beauty Essentials in Fort Frances.
Advanced and beginner sessions will be offered in dramatic techniques, stage movement, improvisation, characterization, vocal development, and dance.
The program is set to run Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the first week and then Monday to Thursday during the second week.
Cost is $175 per participant, and anyone can sign up by calling Martin (482-3055) or Dancemakers and Beauty Essentials (274-0927).
