Deadline approaching for Chapple reunion

Chapple Heritage committee members tell me June 15 is quickly approaching, at which time registrations are due for the school reunion later this summer.
If you’re planning to attend one of the meals provided by the Heritage committee, the concert, or dance on Saturday, June 31, you must pre-register.
Forms are available at Cloverleaf Shop-Easy, the Barwick Village Restaurant, Chapple municipal office, Sight & Sound in Fort Frances, and at Chapple’s website (chapple.on.ca), or by calling Rilla Race at 487-2655.
Registration will be held Friday, July 30 from 3-7 p.m. at the Barwick Hall, followed by a bonfire, wiener roast, and old-time music at the Both Farm starting at 7:30.
All the other events scheduled that weekend are listed on a program available at the municipal office. The hall also will be open throughout the weekend filled with school displays.
Come and be a part of this reunion weekend. You do not have to be a former student to attend.
Another big event coming up in Chapple is the museum’s annual spring tea, which is slated for Saturday, June 5 from 1-4 p.m. “Brides of the Past” will be featured this year.
“Please visit the museum during this day,” noted Emily Clink.
And July 1 is fast approaching, which means it’s time again to plan for the celebrations, which will include the mini-parade, softball tournaments, and games.
A canteen also will be open.
For more info, call Crystal Gray (487-1129) or the municipal office (487-2354).
In other news, the Chapple fire department is looking for volunteers. Contact the municipal office if you are interested.
As well, township residents are reminded that permits are required for all burning as of April 1. These are available at the municipal office.
The municipality also is looking for those interested in training for the position of water/sewer treatment collection and distribution plant operator, water/disposal site and recycling individual, as well as students for summer positions.
Contact Doris or Cheryl at the municipal office for all the details.
