Crossroads gearing to host spring talent show

Robin McCormick

Crossroads students and teachers are busily preparing for a talent show there on Wednesday, May 6 from 6:30-8 p.m.
With many students planning to display their wide variety of talent, this promises to be an enjoyable evening.
Admission is $1 for adults and free for those 14 and under.
As well, white spruce seedlings will be sold that night for $1 each, with proceeds going towards the school’s outdoor garden.

Cards played at the Devlin Hall last Tuesday evening (April 14) saw Jim and Yvonne Kellar take the high while the low went to Beatrice and Bob Meyers.

Hats off to the Guthrie United Church women and the many volunteers (of all ages) for their successful “Spring Fling” and auction held Sunday afternoon at the Devlin Hall.
The two-hour event was well attended, and many delicious desserts were enjoyed by all.
As well, many donations were made to the penny table and also auctioned off. Thanks to all who donated.

Another fun-filled event over the weekend was the annual Spring Fever Days in Emo. A large crowd filled the arena, stores, Legion, etc.
Prizes, great sales, and draws made the weekend fun.
It also was an awesome way to meet up with folks you very likely only see at Spring Fever Days.
Congratulations on a job well done, and I can’t wait until next year!
