Police responded to a two-vehicle collision Tuesday on Highway 17 in Mutrie Township near Dryden.
The driver of one vehicle died as a result of injuries sustained in the collision with a cattle truck at around 5:30 p.m.
He has been identified as David Bowes, 63, of Ear Falls.
Sixteen of the cattle were killed; the rest of the animals were rounded up and taken to a nearby farm.
The incident remains under investigation.
