An Alberton Township man was killed early yesterday in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 613 South near Hughes Road, the OPP reported this morning.
Tyson Romyn, 26, died after the pickup truck he was driving entered the ditch around 2:55 a.m., causing the vehicle to roll and ejecting him, police said.
Romyn was taken to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries, police added.
A post-mortem examination was scheduled for today at Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora.
The scene has been released.
The OPP continues to work in conjunction with the Regional Coroner’s Office, OPP Technical Traffic Collision investigators, and the OPP North West Region Highway Safety Division to investigate the crash.
The crash also caused the postponement of yesterday’s planned five-hour power outage here.
In a brief press release, Hydro One said the outage, which had been scheduled for 7 a.m.-noon, was cancelled due to an emergency health services request.
No alternate date has been set at this time.
