“Holly Daze” in Emo last Friday and Saturday was more than just the grand opening of Cloverleaf ShopEasy. It meant the whole community was involved in some way celebrating the Christmas spirit.
Over at the Emo Legion, a one-day craft and bake sale drew quite a few customers looking to pick up any last-minute items for those on their Christmas lists—and there was a lot to be had.
There also was a penny table featuring a wide array of excellent gift ideas to be won. Soup/sandwiches were available, as well.
Meanwhile, St. Patrick’s held its annual Christmas tea and bazaar Saturday, which also brought out many people. The penny table, which was being look after by Jo Bragg, was busy there, too.
Sandwiches/dainties were served by Chantelle Bragg and her helpers.
And the old-fashioned Christmas tea and bazaar received excellent support at the Emo W.I. Museum, which featured baking, crafts, a penny table, and raffles.
Dwayne Hansen of Rainy River won the quilt up for grabs.
For those who braved the elements outdoors, there was skating and a bonfire at the open air rink, where the Emo rec council and fire department were selling chili and hotdogs, and giving away free hot chocolate.
Pictures with Santa also were taken by Meredith Croswell for several hours outside the arena.
