Cowboy set to entertain district

Rick Neilson

Another cowboy will be coming to Rainy River District when the Rainy River Federation of Agriculture holds its annual meeting and fall dinner on Saturday, Oct. 18 at the Barwick Hall.
Building on the success of the cowboy poet show held here last spring, the evening will feature Ryan Taylor, who writes a popular weekly column entitled “Cowboy Logic” in western farm publications in both Canada and the U.S.
Taylor is member of the North Dakota state senate.
Taylor does a live version of “Cowboy Logic,” spinning his sage philosophies along with several Will Rogers-style rope tricks. He finds the lessons in the everyday and brings them together with a few rope tricks like the wedding ring, the Texas skip, and the handshake.
He’s performed for more than 100 audiences ranging in size from 50 to 1,000 from Alberta to Nebraska.
Tickets for the meal and show are $20 each. Members of the public are welcome to come just for the show, which will start at 8:30 p.m. (tickets for the show only cost $8 in advance and $10 at the door).
Cocktails are at 5 p.m., with dinner starting at 6.
Tickets are availbale at Greensides store in Devlin, Tompkins Hardware in Emo, and from RRFA directors.
