A case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in a man from the Sudbury area. He attended the PDAC (Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada) 2020 convention in Toronto, which took place from March 1 to 4. Northwestern Health Unit (NWHU) asks that any residents who attended this conference self-monitor for fever and cough until 14 days after departing from the event.
Any person in the NWHU area who attended the convention and who develops a fever AND cough are asked to self-isolate and to phone the health unit. For personal health advice, please contact your primary health care provider or Telehealth Ontario at 1-866-797-0000. People who remain well do not need testing, and are asked not to seek medical care, as services may be stretched at this time.
NWHU thanks all of its residents for their co-operation and understanding.
For more information, please call your local health unit office.
