Community garden looking for volunteers

Dave Ogilvie

The Emo-La Vallee-Chapple Healthy Communities Coalition’s “community garden” was planted last week with the help of the Emo Best Start Hub.
They currently are looking for volunteers to “adopt-a-week” to help water and weed the garden, which is located at 6287 Highway 11 (beside Tompkins Road).
Once the produce is ready, it will be available for everyone to access at no cost!
If you would like to “adopt-a-week” to help care for the garden, call 482-2211.

Emo is offering a summer activity program for students aged seven-13 each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 1-3:30 p.m. until Aug. 12.
Come join Ian Grant, Britta DeGroot, and Christina Jewell for “Survivor Week” (July 13-15) at the Lions Park. This week will include all kinds of activities and challenges.
If it is raining, the activities will be held at the Emo Curling Rink.
Meanwhile, a program for those up to age six will be located at the Best Start Hub (the Emo Toy Library/Resource Centre).
A reminder that all younger children must be accompanied by an adult.
Check the posters around town for a complete list of upcoming activities.
