Algoma University and Confederation College recently signed a joint admissions agreement, allowing students easier access and entrance into Algoma’s degree programs upon enrolment at Confederation in Thunder Bay.
The new agreement will reduce the time, cost, and barriers that exist in transferring from a diploma program at the college level to a degree program at the university level.
Students will benefit from a seamless and more cost-effective transfer to university as all transfer fees will be waived.
Confederation students also will have access to enhanced pathway scholarship and bursary opportunities.
The agreement allows students additional avenues to further pursue their educational aspirations.
Students can receive joint admission to Algoma U. in Sault Ste. Marie, Timmins, and Brampton in any of its degree programs.
“We are delighted to sign a Joint Admissions Agreement with Confederation College,” said Algoma University registrar David Marasco.
“The agreement is student-centric, which allows students a seamless and transparent transition to many degree opportunities at Algoma University,” he noted.
“We look forward to working closely with Confederation to support pathway and student access agreements.”
“Confederation College puts access and success for students at the forefront, and this Joint Admissions Agreement is in full support of that effort,” echoed Confederation College registrar Don Duclos.

“Reducing barriers surrounding the transition to university will enable more students to take the next step in achieving their educational dreams.”
