‘Coffee House’ a big hit

According to the organizers and everyone who attended, the Church of the Holy Spirit’s first-ever “Coffee House” on Friday evening was a total success.
The interior of the building magically was transformed into a welcoming space, complete with small tables, “coffee bean candle” centerpieces, and the soft glow of colourful Christmas lights.
A talented group of musicians from the community, including some of the vocal students of Renée Martin-Brown, were asked to perform a few songs for the audience.
The church’s worship band also took part, playing a couple of selections from the Sunday morning repertoire.
Thanks to Piper Lidkea, Alasha Perrault, Katelyn Bruyere, Joelle Bruyere, Ken Brown, Renée Martin-Brown, Alexis Latter, Abbey Calder, Trevor Barker, and the CHS worship band for making the evening such a memorable experience.
Those on hand had a great time listening to the performers, sipping on coffee, tea, and juice, enjoying some dainties from the kitchen, and visiting with friends and relatives.
The bake table and penny table, set up in the Sunday School room, also were busy throughout the evening.
The congregation of the Church of the Holy Spirit would like to thank everyone who attended, donated baking and items for the penny table, and set up and cleaned up the church, as well as to the talented musicians who made the evening such a huge success.
The church also would like to remind everyone that their congregation is a warm and welcoming place each Sunday morning.
The service begins at 10:30 a.m. and all are welcome to attend!

Emo’s annual “Holly Daze” festivities will take place this Friday and Saturday (Nov. 30-Dec. 1).
There will be the usual Christmas parade on the Friday evening, followed by a tree-lighting ceremony and fireworks display.
As well, there will be a craft show over the two days, draw prizes, merchant specials, cutest baby contest at the Hair and Body Care Shoppe, food drive, and much more!
Santa Claus even make an appearance! Pictures with Santa will be available, too.
