“Coffee Break” will begin its new season next Wednesday (Sept. 14).
This interdenominational women’s Bible study group meets at the Christian Reformed Church in Emo each Wednesday morning from September until May.
The program also provides a nursery as well as “Little Lambs” for three- to five-year-olds of the moms who attend.
The season will start with a continental breakfast from 9:15-10 a.m., followed by a presentation by Dawn Nyborg, from the Psalm 99:5 radio station, entitled “Hope—A Promise of Restoration,” which is her personal testimony of her journey to faith in Christ.
All ladies are welcome and encouraged to bring a friend!

The Emo-Devlin-Barwick Minor Hockey Association will hold registration on Monday, Sept. 12 and Tuesday, Sept. 13 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. upstairs at the Emo Arena.
First-time registrants must bring along their birth certificate.

The Emo-La Vallee-Chapple Healthy Communities Coalition is presenting a free workshop, “Watch Out—Women Walking: Learn to Pole-Walk,” for women aged 55 and older, on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 9:30 a.m.-noon at the Emo Legion.
A free lunch will follow.

The 67th season of the Border Concert Association begins Friday, Sept. 30 at Backus Auditorium in International Falls.
The first concert will feature “Street Corner Symphony.”
This new and exciting male a cappella sextet, based in Nashville Tenn., already is making waves in the music world. They recently competed in “The Sing-off,” a new reality show for vocal ensembles on NBC, finishing in second place.
Tickets for the concert series, which cost $45 for adults, $95 for a family (two adults and a school-age youth), and $10 for students (with school ID), can be purchased in Emo at the Emo Clinic, Cloverleaf Store, and Emo Drugs, as well as from Canadian Border Concert Association members.
