Talented blues performer Charlie A’Court will stage a show on Thursday, May 28 beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Little Beaver Snow Park lodge in Fort Frances.
Admission is $15 in advance, with tickets available at Tichborne’s, the Clover Valley Farmers’ Market, Cornell Farms, and the Fort Frances Public Library, or $18 at the door.
Charlie A’Court hails from the Maritimes and frequently performs to sold-out audiences.
Local performers Kenneth Kellar and Ross Kircher will be the opening act.
I’ve been told it’s a real treat to have this performance here.
A few years ago, “tour de Fort” was unable to arrange for A’Court to perform here, but this time things fell into place.

Cards played at the Devlin Hall last week saw the high go to Norbert Bragg and Marilyn McDonald. Jim Kellar and Lois shine took the low.
Next Tuesday (May 19) is the final night of cards in Devlin for the season. Look for it to resume in September.

Our community welcomes new neighbours, Shane and Leeann Mose and their four children, who purchased the home of Lynn and Dana Cain on Cemetery Road.
Congratulations also to the Mose family on the birth of their daughter. I’m sure she will be well looked after by her three brothers.

A reminder the Emo Legion will host a Bingo on Tuesday, May 26.
Cards played at the Emo Legion last week saw the high going to Ross Brooks and the low to Lois LaBelle.
Lois also won the draw.

This year’s Emo Walleye Classic is coming up May 28-30.
The popular “Walleyedol” singing contest will be held on the Friday (May 29). A new edition this year will be the “Minnow Idol” for youths.
Plan on taking the entire three days off to attend the tournament. It always proves to be great!

Crossroads School will hold its annual Family BBQ on Thursday, May 28 from 5-7:30 p.m.
The dinner will include hotdogs, smokies, salad, corn on the cob, and a drink.
Dinner order forms have been sent home. Please return them by this Friday (May 15).
