Charges laid in hit-and-run

Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial (OPP) received a traffic complaint of suspicious vehicles at a park situated on the south side of Kenora.

The complaint was reported at approximately 3 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18.

Upon further investigation, police learned that a female pedestrian was struck by one of the All-Terrain Vehicle’s (ATV).

The female was transported to the hospital and sustained non-life threatening injuries.

As a result of this investigation, a 19-year-old Kenora man has been charged with Dangerous Operation, Trespassing at Night and Theft Under $5,000 under the Criminal Code of Canada.

He is to appear in Kenora Court on Sept. 26, 2019 to answer to the charges.

The female youth has been charged with Dangerous Operation causing Bodily Harm, Fail to Stop at Accident resulting in Bodily Harm and Trespassing at Night contrary to the Criminal Code.

She is to appear in Kenora court on Sept. 24, 2019 to answer to the charges.

The male youth has been charged with Dangerous Operation, Trespassing at Night and Theft under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code.

He is to appear in Kenora court on Sept. 24, 2019 to answer to the charges.
