Charges laid in gathering

(KENORA, ON) Thinking about having a get-together? Think again. Police are actively responding to calls regarding gatherings over five, which are currently illegal in Ontario.
Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a complaint regarding a large group of people gathering at a residence in the south side of Kenora.
On the evening of Saturday, April 20, 2020, police responded to a residence regarding the complaint. Officers attended and educated all subjects about emergency orders made under the Emergency Measures and Civil Protection Act (EMCPA). As a result, a 38 year old male was charged with ‘Fail to comply with an order made during an emergency’ as per EMCPA.
