Chapple council is planning a public meeting on Tuesday, March 9 at 1 p.m. at the municipal office to review the township’s schedule of fees and charges.
Council has reviewed some of the user fees required for the township and directed Dyson to advertise to the public about the proposed bylaw changes prior to the next council meeting.

At council’s February meeting, Reeve Bill Clink outlined the proposed changes in the contract for CBO, and that Bylaw 1313 be drafted authorizing the reeve and clerk to enter into an agreement re the CBO.
With regards to DSSAB, Coun. Peter Van Heyst reported the preliminary budget looked at an increase of roughly 14 percent. They are in negotiations with Riverside concerning ambulance storage, he added.
Roads Superintendent Jim Teeple reported that crews have been busy snowplowing. Some work had been done on the new grader, but it is all covered by the extended warranty.
The John Deere required a new head gasket. Teeple also is contemplating pulling the engine this spring as there are lots of hours on the motor and it may have to be replaced.
Teeple recommended council look at a new grader within the next couple of years.
Resurfacing is not required this year, but Teeple would like to rebuild Teeple and Lampi roads this year.
Dyson noted Union Gas’ report for work required in the municipal office. H. Romyn has been contacted to complete the job.
A fire management agreement rate schedule has been received with no increase in prices.
At the meeting, Chapple council supported a resolution from the City of Dryden requesting the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance have funding of disease prevention health promotion services in Ontario be the complete responsibility of the provincial government in order to ensure equal access to public health services for all the residents of the province.
It supported a second resolution from the City of Dryden requesting that the Northwestern Health Unit board of health consider its 2004 budget with a view to lowering the per capital increase and phasing in any increase over the current term of municipal councils.
Council also moved that Dyson and Cheryl Hagen be authorized to attend the Municipal Plan Review slated March 29-30 in Thunder Bay and that their expenses be paid.
