Brian Melanson came home last Monday from Waterloo. The following day he and his mother Margaret Melanson motored to Moose Jaw to visit with the Ross Melanson family.
Unfortunately, Ross was working while his wife and family were at Langenbury, Sask. visiting with her folks. There, they picked up Brian’s daughter who had flown there to visit.
Margaret, Brian and his daughter returned here Thursday and commenced to sort out Paul’s articles stored in the garage. It is now much brighter and spacious. Brian and daughter will be leaving this week for Waterloo.

Last Wednesday, Mark VanHeyst marked his birthday. He’s a fine gentleman at heart, courteous and well-liked by all. Since it was Mark’s own day to howl, he brought along a decorated one-layer carrot cake for us to enjoy and wish him many more years of health. Taking part in the mini-party was Lois King, Sandy Haney, Val Kellar, Keri Kellar, Jodi Barker and Milt Guba.

After Elmer Norlund’s funeral at the Zion Lutheran Church in Fort Frances, I had the opportunity to speak with John Carroll of Thunder Bay who has health difficulties. He mentioned he’s doing fine and had encouraging news: he is on top of the list for a transplant!
A slight error on the Norlund funeral: Since Pastor Brian Keffer was on vacation, Pastor of First Lutheran at International Falls, Rev. Thomas Aiken lead the service. Son Harold Norlund did the eulogy.
