Chapple fall supper in the works

Upcoming activities in Chapple include the fall supper of stew slated for Friday Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. at the Barwick Hall. The Rainy Lake Highlanders will entertain.
The cost to attend is $10 for adults and $6 for children aged eight and under. This is a fundraiser for the Chapple Museum.

Fundraising also has been going on for Chapple North skating rink. Work is in progress to replace the boards and posts there.

Registration forms are now available for the Chapple school reunion being planned for July 30-Aug. 1, 2004. You need to register if you attend any meals.
This includes all the schools under Chapple municipality before Sturgeon Creek was built. If interested, call Rilla Race at 487-2655.

More on “Ivanka” that’s coming up Saturday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. at the Rainy River Community Centre. You will be served a decadent dessert after the show, and there also will be a silent auction.
Tickets cost $30 each or two for $50, which are available at In Focus in Fort Frances, and Rainy River True Value, the Rainy River Record office, Rainy River Drugs, and Lifestyles Clothing.
Dianne Potts appears in the show as Ivanka’s sister.

Congratulations to Murray and Nadine Gerula on the birth of their daughter, Erika, on Sept. 25, weighing six lbs, 14 oz. A sister for Ailana.

The sympathy of this community goes out to Conrad Siraky’s relatives on their loss. Conrad grew up at North Branch (Pattullo) and lived here for many years before moving to Fort Frances.
His interment will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery here.

A big crowd was reported at Oktoberfest in Baudette last weekend despite the rainy weather. Dancing at the Brink Centre there this Friday (Oct. 3) is to Kelly’s Band of Roseau, Mn.

A reminder that quilting at the Bergland School, which is slated for Saturdays at 9 a.m., won’t be starting until after Thanksgiving.
