Changes being made at hospital

Press Release

Effective Dec. 18, La Verendrye General Hospital is moving to a centralized registration model.
This standardized change aims to improve patient flow, improve staff and patient safety, and enhance the patient experience.
From 8 a.m.-8 p.m., all patients and visitors will use the Main Entrance off Front Street and proceed to First Floor Registration via the elevators or stairs to one of the two registration/information desks.
Our urgent and emergent patients are encouraged to enter through the Emergency entrance doors off Victoria Avenue.
Please note the following exceptions:
•chemotherapy and oncology patients will proceed directly to the Chemotherapy Unit for registration; and
•physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech pathology patients will register at the First Floor Registration area for their initial visit, then proceed directly to the Rehab Department for all follow-up appointments thereafter.
We appreciate the public’s understanding and patience as we adapt to this new model for centralized registration at La Verendrye General Hospital.
In related news, Riverside and the Riverside Foundation for Health Care are happy to announce the Foundation’s new office location.
Effective Dec. 18, it will be located in the main lobby of La Verendrye General Hospital into what is currently the registration area.
This move is intended to increase the visibility and access to the Foundation by the general public, and further assist us in supporting health care close to home.
This new centralized location will allow the Foundation to better serve the needs of its current and future donors, supporters, and the community.
The Foundation will hold an open house in the New Year to welcome the public to its new office space, and provide them an opportunity to meet the Foundation staff and members of the board.
Details of the open house will follow at a later date.
We appreciate the public’s understanding and patience as we adapt to this new office space.
