Press Release
This year, the Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce has decided to celebrate Canada’s most famous (or infamous) citizens!
The theme for the Canada Day window display contest is “The Quest for Canada’s Best,” where they will pay tribute to our most famous people.
From Justin Beiber to Alexander Graham Bell, we want to see them all!
To give you a helping hand, the Chamber has some lists of famous Canadians you can start with, but where you take it is up to you!
Stuck for a theme? Why not check out the famous Canadian actors?
For instance, Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling both were in “The Notebook,” and both are Canadian.
A clothing store, meanwhile, could look into Canada’s most famous models and fashion designers!
What about a tribute to famous Canadian athletes? The possibilities are endless—and will be endlessly entertaining!
The judging will take place during “Mall Days,” which is next Thursday (June 30).
The Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce will be out evaluating your windows on the following:
•best celebrity portrayal;
•“The Alexander Graham Bell Award” (i.e., most original/inventive display);
•“The Don Cherry Award” (most extravagant/outlandish display); and
•“The Jim Carrey Award” (funniest/most comedic display).
If you would like to participate in “The Quest for Canada’s Best” window display, contact the Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce by 4 p.m. next Wednesday (June 29).
