A post-mortem conducted yesterday at Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora revealed the cause of death of a Devlin teen Monday night as a single gunshot wound.
Meanwhile, Fort Frances OPP is continuing its investigation into the shooting incident that claimed the life of Jeffrey Louis Shoemaker, 14.
No charges have been laid yet, and police have not revealed any details on the circumstances surrounding the shooting
Shoemaker was pronounced dead shortly after he arrived by ambulance at La Verendrye hospital here suffering from a gunshot wound.
The shooting occurred shortly before police and ambulance responded to a 911 call from a Devlin resident at 9:36 p.m. on Monday that a youth had been shot.
The Fort Frances OPP Criminal Investigation Unit and the OPP’s Criminal Investigation Branch out of Kenora are assisting in the investigation.
