A new chair and vice-chair will be named tonight as the Northwest Catholic District School Board holds its inaugural meeting at 6:30 p.m. at St. Francis School here.
The new trustees elected in October also will undergo orientation.
The board then will hold its first regular meeting of the new term tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. at St. Francis.
At Saturday’s meeting, trustees will be given a presentation on blended e-learning.
They also will be presented with the 2009-10 Audited Financial Statements (if this report is ready yet), as well as looking to approve the 2011-12 budget planning cycle.
Multiple recognitions of excellence will be presented Saturday, including to the St. Francis School Council for its numerous efforts and plans for the school year.
Students and staff there have organized multiple committees in the areas of social justice, environmental, healthy living, and community connection to plan projects and activities throughout the school year.
Recognition will also be given to Ken Brown of St. Michael’s School for the creation of the choir there.
Meanwhile, Derek Jones, Melanie Fafard, and Tracy Wright will be saluted for the preparation and planning of the Remembrance Day ceremony last month at St. Michael’s School.
