Catholic board to elect chair, vice-chair

The Northwest Catholic District School Board will hold its inaugural meeting tomorrow to swear in trustees following last month’s election, followed by the first regular meeting of the new board.
The board also will hold an election for chair and vice chair following the swearing in.
Former board chair Gerry Rousseau was not re-elected in the municipal election while newcomer Paul Cousineau won one of the three Fort Frances seats.
Re-elected trustees include Anne Marie Fitzgerald and Harold Huntley (Fort Frances), Mark Chojko-Bolec (Stratton), former vice-chair Robert vanOort and John Borst (Dryden), and Cathy Bowen (Sioux Lookout).
Ralph Bruyere is the board’s First Nations representative.
During the regular meeting tomorrow, the board will review its fourth-annual Accessibility Plan and vote on whether to submit it to the Ministry of Citizenship.
The latest enrolment numbers also will be presented at the meeting, as well as a recommendation to appoint two new members to the board’s Special Education Advisory Committee.
The swearing in and meeting will take place at the board office next to St. Francis School beginning at 1 p.m.
