The annual “Castin’ for Cash” fishing tournament on Lake Despair is set to go this Friday and Saturday (July 8-9).
The weigh-ins begin at 4 p.m. on both days.
Bill and Nell Godin and their hard-working volunteers once again have organized a weekend of fun and excitement.
Some 60 teams have registered for the tournament, including anglers from Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, and the United States.
Local band “Nightshift” will perform on the Saturday night. Come out and enjoy the tunes!
Meanwhile, the Muskie boys’ hockey team will have a food booth set up both days featuring a wide variety of items, including burgers, hotdogs, French fries, chicken wings, poutine, and much more.
Enjoy their food while supporting our Muskies!
As well, a fish fry supper will be served on Friday beginning at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $12 for adults and $6 for kids 12 and under.
And believe me, the food will be delicious as Nell cooks as well as Bill fishes.

Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Hilding Peterson. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Jane (Lundstrom), his children, grandchildren, and many others.
Hilding was a quiet man but always with a chuckle and caring thoughts for the people he was spending time with.

Robin’s 2¢:
The famous Barbie doll recently turned 45 years old.
There have been suggestions the market should come out with a new Barbie to honour this milestone.
How about Facial Hair Barbie? As her hormone levels shift, you can see her little chin whiskers grow.
Also available with teensy tweezers and a magnifying mirror.
Or perhaps Postmenopausal Barbie? This Barbie wets her pants when she sneezes, forgets where she put things, and cries a lot.
She comes with her own supply of Depends and Kleenex.
