Cannabis input being sought

Press Release

The Northwestern Health Unit wants to know more about opinions of cannabis in the community.
We are reaching out to community members, and the organizations we work with, for ideas and input that will help make Northwestern Ontario communities healthier.
There are a couple ways you can offer input and/or ideas:
•Online survey
Complete the short “Cannabis in the Community” online survey available at www.nwhu.on.ca
The survey is open to all community members and health unit community partners.
If you prefer, you also can fill out a hard-copy survey in any of our offices.
If you need help, ask a staff member to complete the survey with you.
•Online discussion panel
If you have something to say about public health issues affecting your community, we need you to join our online discussion panel, “Talk Public Health,” and tell us what you would like to see in Northwestern Ontario.
The online discussion panel runs from Oct. 9-27 and will focus on the topic of “Cannabis in the Community.”
Register by Oct. 5 to be a part of the panel by e-mailing talkpublichealth@nwhu.on.ca with the subject line “panel participation.”
The information we collect through the survey and the online discussion panel will:
•help the Northwestern Health Unit learn more about perceptions of cannabis in Northwestern Ontario communities; and
•be used in our work, as well as in the work we do with community partners, related to cannabis and substance use.
For more information, contact your local health unit office (274-9827) or visit www.nwhu.on.ca
