The local Alzheimer’s Society is looking for volunteers to sew lap-sized “Touch Quilts” for those suffering from the disease.
These quilts are made of fabrics which provide tactile and visual stimulation.
When you’re in Emo, stop by the Hair and Body Care Shoppe to see a sample and pick up an instruction sheet.
Donations of suitable fabrics also would be greatly appreciated.

The next men’s breakfast meeting will take place this Saturday (March 17) at 8 a.m. at the Emo Legion.
The $10 buffet will feature guest speaker Rod Muir of Thunder Bay.
Muir is a past owner of Courtesy Freight Systems and a longtime businessman in Thunder Bay, where he has played a key leadership role in his church.
With a passion for making the Gospel known, Muir has found various effective avenues of getting the message out.
For a number of years, he’s been one of the key people in organizing a very successful monthly luncheon meeting in Thunder Bay, where the Gospel is shared with business and professional men.
Come out this Saturday, enjoy an excellent buffet, and listen as Muir shares with the men of this district.

A reminder that the Emo and District Lions Club’s second-annual “Farmers Night” is coming up Saturday, March 24 at the Barwick Hall.
Tickets are $25 each, with the menu consisting of turkey, ham, salads, etc. There also will be a cash bar as well as draw prizes donated by local businesses, individuals, and national sponsors.
A few tickets are left, which can be purchased by calling 482-3788.

The Emo and District Hospital Auxiliary will host its annual Shamrock tea and bake sale this Friday (March 16) from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Emo hospital cafeteria.
Admission is $3, with all the funds raised going towards the X-ray equipment upgrade at the Emo hospital.
Auxiliary memberships also will be available for $2 each.

St. Patrick’s Catholic Church is Emo is holding a roast beef supper this Saturday (March 17) starting at 5 p.m.
The cost is $12 for adults and $6 for children aged six-12 (kids five and under are free).
There will be “Luck of the Irish” door prizes, other draws, and “Irish” entertainment.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
