Busy weekend for police

A 24-year-old Barwick man was arrested by Emo OPP officers shortly before 2 p.m. on Friday for failing to comply with conditions of a release document.
When searching the subject subsequent to arrest, the officers found roughly 18 grams of suspect marijuana and 54 Oxycocet pills.
The man was charged with failure to comply with conditions of a release document as well as possession of marijuana under 30 grams and possession of a controlled substance (Oxycodone).
He will appear in court Feb. 20.
Also Friday, Fort Frances OPP officers were called to investigate a motorized snowmachine collision in the laneway to the rear of the 900 block of Victoria Avenue.
The investigation revealed a southbound snowmachine struck a westbound snowmachine—causing the passengers to be ejected.
The driver of the southbound snowmachine, a 36-year-old Fort Frances man, subsequently was arrested and charged with driving with a blood alcohol level over 80 mg, as well as driving along a highway with no licence, driving a motorized snow vehicle without a permit, and driving a motorized snow vehicle with no insurance.
He will appear in court March 20.
And yesterday, Atikokan OPP investigated a report of mischief to a residence on the 200 block of Gorrie Street there.
Two suspects smashed two windows in a residence. The police located the suspects a short time later at a residence on Spruce Road.
The OPP subsequently arrested and charged a 22-year-old man, of no fixed address, with mischief under $5,000 and a 22-year-old Atikokan man with mischief under $5,000 and breach of probation.
They will appear in court March 23.
