Bujold named senior of the year

Robin McCormick

Ethel Bujold was honoured with the 2008 “Senior of the Year” award for La Vallee, which was presented during the township’s annual community Christmas party on Sunday.
It was not a surprise to anyone who knows Ethel that it was her year to shine. She is a very positive and energetic force in La Vallee.
Living in Devlin all her life, Ethel has played the organ at Guthrie United Church for 63 years and also taught Sunday School. She volunteers to bake and cook at all community suppers and funerals, as well as church teas and other events.
Many folks also have been entertained by Ethel’s musical talent as she volunteers to play the organ at the Golden Age Manor in Emo, Rainycrest in Fort Frances, and Northwoods Funeral Home in Emo.
Along with that busy schedule, Ethel attends teas, bake sales, and all charity functions from Emo to Fort Frances.
Congratulations from your community on a well-deserved award, Ethel!
