The Northwestern Health Unit has rescinded the boil water advisory in Atikokan.
Clearwells in the Atikokan Water Treatment Plant have been at healthy levels for several days.
Sampling of the water treatment plant and the distribution system show the water to be safe.
The township is keeping the water restriction in place, however, until the weather changes.
Water consumption is still very close to the maximum water production capability of the plant.
Without the water restriction in place, township officials fear that the water supply will quickly decline once again.
For this reason, officials are asking for continued cooperation in limiting water usage for the time being.
