Body found in English River

On Saturday at 9:09 a.m. officers from the Red Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a drowning on the English River.
The incident took place in the area of the Bailey Bridge at Highway 804 in the Town of Ear Falls.
Prior to the arrival of the OPP, the body of a 49-year-old female was located in the river and returned to shore where later during the police investigation, she was pronounced deceased.
The OPP Northwest Region Crime Unit, under the direction of Detective Inspector |Peter Loree of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) is assisting the Coroner’s Office with this ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
A post mortem examination will be conducted at the Office of the Chief Coroner and Forensic Pathology Service located in Toronto at a date which is in the process of being finalized.
