The OPP bike rodeo, held a week ago in Emo, was well-attended by young riders eager to show their knowledge and ability to ride safely.
OPP summer students Sam Berube and Hailey Clendenning gave the bicycles a safety check, instructed the riders on how to wear their helmets properly, and demonstrated various safe riding techniques.
Those on hand then were allowed to practice these skills on the different sections of the obstacle course.
Following the rodeo, everyone was invited to stay for a free barbecue.

Once again this year, there will be a trade show in the arena during the Emo Fair on Aug. 19-20 and it is looking for more (new) booth participants.
The cost is $90 for the two days (plus $30 if you need electricity).
More than 7,000 people normally attend the fair each year so it’s a great bang for your buck! This is a great opportunity for small businesses or non-profit groups.

The Emo (EMX) will be hosting two motocross races this season on the track north of Emo.
The first will be held Aug. 13, with the second one slated for Sept. 10 (both are point races).

The Emo Speedway will be hosting double features in the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, WISSOTA Modifieds, and Street Stocks this Saturday (Aug. 13).
Hot laps begin at 7 p.m., with the first race at 7:30 (weather permitting).
Grandstand admission is $10 for adults, $6 for seniors/students, and $4 for those aged six-12 (kids five and under are free).
Family packages also are available for $25.
Season passes also are available for $125 for adults and $75 for students/seniors.
Pit fees are $20 for the driver (plus a one-time club membership of $20) and $20 for a pit crew (unless a club member, then it is $15 each).
