At this time of year, with hunting, outdoor recreation, and rural cottage and resident clean-up, people are reminded to manage all outdoor fires safely and watch for firefighting personnel working on wildfires.

While no new fires were reported yesterday in the Northwest Region, two were confirmed Tuesday—one in Sioux Lookout District and one in Nipigon District.
Both were declared “out” the same day.
The forest fire hazard varies from “low” to “high” across the region.
Most of the western portion of the region has a “high” hazard.
