“Be A Fan” campaign is a national awareness and fundraising initiative in support of Special Olympics.
The Special Olympics movement transforms communities by inspiring people to open their minds to accept and include people with intellectual disabilities, and to celebrate differences among all people while recognizing and respecting the similarities we all share.
Rainy River District OPP, together with our policing partners at Treaty #3 Police Services, will be joining forces with two high school hockey teams to celebrate “Be A Fan” Day.
The Fort Frances Muskies and Dryden Eagles girls’ hockey teams will be sporting bright red skate laces for their NorWOSSA season-opener next Tuesday (Nov. 13) at 7:30 p.m. at the Memorial Sport Centre.
Together, the hockey teams, officers, and local Special Olympians will be on hand to raise awareness with the help of hockey fans and community members.
