Barron releases her first book to local stores

After a very busy summer of running her own business “Captured Memoirs”, Allison Barron finally has something to show for all of her effort as her first book, “Captured Memoirs: In the Midst of the Battle” is completed and already graces the shelves of a handful of stores in Fort Frances and Emo.
Chronicling the experiences of both men and women during their brushes with war, the book captures all aspects of life during the war from the soldiers and the nurses accounts of battles, to the letters written to loved ones left behind at home, to the memories of those people whose family had gone away.
Included in the book are 10 stories, nine of which from World War Two and one special account from a soldier who was stationed in Afghanistan.
The book is about 120 pages which is slightly shorter than Barron expected but nonetheless she is proud of her accomplishment.
She noted that she aimed to keep each story in the voice of the respective person and so she did as little as possible to change wording in her editing.
You can find her first book in Fort Frances at Betty’s and Northwoods Gallery and Gifts or in Emo at Cloverleaf Grocery and Emo Drugs.
The price is approximately $15-$20 and is worth every penny.
As previously stated, Barron thinks that getting these memoirs down in hard copy is more important now than ever or else all of that rich memory and knowledge will be lost when they pass on.
World War Two is getting further away and its survivors are getting older every day.
“I feel like people’s memories and experiences are useful for the next generation. We should know their stories and hear their experiences and these things shouldn’t be lost with time,” stressed Barron.
