Hats off to the organizers and volunteers involved with the “Heart of the Arts” benefit last Thursday evening.
Adding to the evening was Alyson Wannamaker (Booth), who wowed the audience with her version of “I Will Always Love You” made famous by the late Whitney Houston.
Meanwhile, Gilbert Smith, an story-teller from Northwest Bay, gave an inspiring talk on his life, the struggles facing society today, and hope for us all.
Here’s hoping “Heart of the Arts” takes place in future years, and once again showcases local talent, culture, and pride.

Norbert Bragg underwent hip replacement surgery last Monday (Feb. 13) in Dryden and returned home Saturday (Feb. 18).
He is doing well and hoping for a speedy recovery.
Your community of family and friends hope for that, as well!

Jeanine Shine has returned from hospital in Thunder Bay back to La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances.
Fortunately, she is continuing to feel better and having a positive attitude.
Lorraine Norris, a long-time Burriss resident, also is in hospital in Fort Frances.
Both ladies are sent care and concern from the community
