And the pontoon winner is…

Following the drama and excitement of the weigh-ins at the Rainy River Walleye Tournament on Saturday evening, winners Danny Hanson and Trevor Day relinquished the stage to the West Rainy River Lions Club for another set of winners for the WRRD Pontoon Boat Draw 2022.

The draw happened at the Country Corner Cafe in the Municipality of Morley, the township that granted the Lottery Licence to the WRRD Lions. Technology to the fore; the Draw was Live-Streamed via the internet to the screens at the RRWT Big Tent in Rainy River.

WRRD Lions Telford Advent, Brent Helgeson, and Jack Elliott provided the operation and broadcast staff with Morley Municipal Clerk Treasurer, Theresa Desserre, dipping a hand in the drum and pulling three random tickets from the thousands there in order of prizes #1, #2, and #3.

1st Prize: The Princecraft Vectra 21 LT Pontoon Boat with 115 Hp Mercury Pro XS motor valued at $48,477.00 went to ticket #4639 held by Ed Katona of Fort Frances.

2nd Prize: A $1000 gift Certificate from Nestor Falls Marine & Sports towards the purchase of Lowrance Electronics was won by Ticket #5186 held by Greg Penney of Fort Frances.

3rd Prize: A $500 gift Certificate from Nestor Falls Marine & Sport towards a Rod & Reel Combo package was won by Ticket # 3583 held by Shelly Readman, of Fort Frances… a clean sweep for Fort at this year’s draw.

Video of the actual draw may be viewed on the West Rainy River District Lions Club Facebook page.

The WRRD Lions offers our congratulations to all the winners and a sincere Thank You to our sponsor Nestor Falls Marine & Sport and all the volunteers and businesses and employees who sold tickets for the Lions. A particularly Big Thank you to Dickie Byrnes, retired pipefitter, who delivered and collected tickets for us all over the District.
