2008 was a very good year for Emo, said Reeve Ed Carlson, and with the completion of numerous community projects, 2009 will be a good one, too.
“We have some ambitious things to do [this] year, like create our walkway to our sportsfield complex,” said Reeve Carlson.
The complex itself was just finished last year, and has been well used by many in the community for soccer and baseball.
“We want to see the walkway done out to the sportsfield, just make it more accessible to people and easier to access than via the highway,” he explained.
Another thing 2009 will bring to Emo is getting the water spray park up and running, added Reeve Carlson, something that hopefully will happen by the spring.
“We’re looking forward to definitely seeing the abattoir up and running by early spring, as soon as they can break ground and get a contractor in and get going,” he added.
The village also saw some promising movement towards the Judson development, Reeve Carlson continued.
“I’m looking at [the new year] positively, so I don’t want to think that there’s going to be any challenges or road blocks in the way,” he remarked.
“I really believe that the things that we’re working on in the community to see come to into fruition will be there, and the people of the community will look forward to it as much as we are, to having our community move forward and progress.
“I hope that it’s a safe, productive year for each of us, and for everyone,” he added, noting the township has an open door at the municipal office and they look forward to hearing from each and every resident.
