A few fires pop up

One new fire was reported in the West Fire Region by yesterday evening.
Sioux Lookout Fire #48 was a smouldering blaze reported at the community of Wunnumin Lake at 0.2 hectares in size.
A FireRanger crew has been dispatched to the scene.
Meanwhile, one new fire was reported Tuesday evening in the northern community of Weagamow, also in Sioux Lookout District.
The community fire officer and the local fire department took action on Sioux Lookout Fire #47 and it is now “out.”
Elsewhere, Red Lake Fire #32 has been declared “out.”
Located northeast of Pikangikum, the final size was 4,417 hectares.
One managed fire remains active in Quetico Provincial Park while two others that were being monitored in the park have been declared “out.”
Thunder Bay and Nipigon districts continue to monitor one fire each.
The forest fire hazard is “low to moderate” across most portions of the region except for the Nipigon and Sioux Lookout districts, which are in a “high” fire hazard.
In related news, additional FireRanger crews and equipment headed to Quebec yesterday and today, bringing the number of Ontario personnel assisting Quebec to 129.
Twenty-two fire staff were dispatched to Quebec on Monday.
In addition, three aircraft—two CL-415 waterbombers and one Bird Dog–will be dispatched to Chibougamau, in central Quebec, while some FireRangers and support staff will be heading to Val D’Or.
Ontario also has two fire behaviour analysts assisting in the Northwest Territories.
