The Rainy River District 4-H Photography Club held its first meeting July 6 at 6:30 p.m. at Tracy Hyatt’s house.
Our club consists of six people. The president is Jessica Cain and the vice-president is Maegan Beacham.
Ashley Nordstrom was elected secretary, with Nicole Beadle as treasurer. Kerry Hyatt will be our youth leader and I, John Cain, will be the press reporter.
Our leaders are Kathy Smith and Tracy Hyatt.
After saying the 4-H pledge, we got down to business. We discussed different types of cameras, such as digital, SLR, and point-and-shoot.
Reading from our study book, “Exploring Photography,” we also learned about which films to use, focusing, eliminating unwanted things from our pictures, and how to look at our subject from all angles to find the best shot.
Our leaders sent us home with a project to complete before the next meeting this Friday (July 22). We have to take 24 pictures using the skills that we learned.
Hopefully, we will all do a fine job—and have fun doing it.
The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m., then we had a snack and talked about how much fun we were going to have being photographers.
