4-H horse club meets

On Sept. 10 at 6 p.m., a group of horse fanatics came together for a 4-H Horse Club meeting at Kathy Stahn’s home north of Devlin.
Our club consists of 12 members and two leaders, Kathy Stahn and Denise Donaldson.
We began our meeting by reciting the 4-H pledge, then we introduced ourselves and said how long we’ve been in 4-H (or if it was our first time), and why we came.
We subsequently elected David Donaldson as president, Andrew Morrish as vice-president, Jolene Stahn as secretary, and Rylee Nixon as the press reporter.
We also received our 4-H Horse Club guide books, and learned of the external body parts and features of a horse. We then completed a few activity sheets to test our knowledge from the lesson.
Then we decided it was time for a little bit of fun, so we took a break and played a game of soccer (boys vs. girls). After that, we went to visit the Stahns’ horses, all of which were the Welsh breed.
Our meeting wrapped up early, so we took advantage of the time to visit and get acquainted with each other. It was interesting and fun, and we are looking forward to the next get-together.
The club’s next meeting is slated for this Friday (Sept. 24) at 6 p.m. at Kathy Stahn’s house.
