The third meeting of the 4-H Devlin Beef Club was called to order at 7:30 p.m. June 29, at Kim Jo Bliss’ garage. We started the meeting off with reciting the 4-H pledge.
Then Louis handed out the Meeting Three agenda to everyone, and Tayah gave everyone minutes from Meeting Two. We went over the minutes and made sure everyone approved them. Then we did the same for the agenda. No one was opposed so we moved on. Then we went to the barn to see Maddy and Marlee’s heifer. We reviewed all of the parts of a heifer and used Marlee’s heifer as a model to point each part out. After we reviewed them, we did a 30-second quiz to see how many parts we remembered after the review. There were 34 parts in total and no one got them all. Then after we did that, we headed back to the garage and did it again, but there wasn’t a specific time limit and we did it on paper to try and label it. After, there was a fair amount of time to get most of them down, as we got an answer sheet and any of the ones we didn’t finish, we filled in. Then everyone walked back out by the barn and the Club looked at the other animals around the farm. We looked at two bulls, the horse and then finally looked at the sheep and the goats that were all coming to see us. After, we walked back to the garage again for refreshments and some treats. We won’t decide on the next meeting until things are figured out about the fair.
