On Feb. 28, the 4-H Bread Busters Club arrived at Safeway for a tour of the bakery with Victor Sousa.
We looked at the huge ovens, mixers, walk-in fridge and freezer, and the rising area.
Victor demonstrated how the machines shaped and cut the breads and buns.
He also showed us how the machine sliced the bread while, close by, another machine filled the bag with air so it was easier to package the bread.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and would like to thank Victor and Safeway for allowing us to tour the bakery.
