4-H club explores scrapbooking

By Olivia Seguin
4-H correspondent

Our last 4-H meeting was hosted on Saturday, September 24th at the Seniors Center in Stratton. Our meeting was about scrapbooking. We started the meeting with the 4-H pledge and taking attendance; Jessica Teeple, Sydney Romyn, Georgia Romyn, Emily Romyn, Rihanna Morrison, Olivia Seguin, Melania Olson, Hailey Wilson, Mason Teeple and our leaders Krista Olson and Melinda Romyn were all present. The leaders asked the roll call questions and then handed the meeting over to our special guest Meredith Croswell to teach us about scrapbooking. We first learned about different types of paper and how it should be acid free so it doesn’t discolour your pictures and how some old photos can also discolour and ruin other pictures they touch. We learned about how to design and create a scrapbook page. We used a machine and special cutters to cut out our names for our 4-H scrapbooks and paper punches to cut out other fun shapes for our pages. We used the rest of our time to work on our pages, ended our meeting with snacks then president Jessica Teeple adjourned the meeting.

The 4-H Explorers 2.0 have learned a wide range of fun and practical skills. At their latest meeting, they learned how to scrapbook. – Submitted photo
