Devlin slo-pitch tourney renamed

The Devlin slo-pitch league will be raising a new banner this Friday (July 13).
Formerly known as the Kingsley Downs Memorial Slo-pitch Tournament, the tournament now will be known as the Kingsley Downs and Gus Lindberg Memorial Slo-pitch Tournament.
Downs was killed in a car accident three years ago while Lindberg passed away suddenly last year.
The tournament kicks off this evening (July 11) with games at 6 and 7:30 p.m. at the Devlin Ball Park, and will continue through to the ‘A’ final on Sunday starting at 2:30 p.m.
There will be a beer garden on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, as well as a canteen.
No longer will we see Gus’ fist pumping and hear him call, “You’re out!” nor will we hear Kingsley’s “Strike on the corner, batter!”
They are sadly gone but not forgotten.
Spectators are encouraged to come and share a memory at the slo-pitch tournament this weekend.
