Big Grassy First Nation joined Skyway Canada at the Stratton Curling Club last Thursday to participate in a curling clinic led by siblings and Canadian mixed curling champs Trevor Bonot and Jackie McCormick.
The students from Big Grassy were able to learn safety tips about the sport and also participate in games with the local experts, who will be competing at the world championship in Switzerland this October.
“The day was great. It was nice to see so many kids learning the sport,” Bonot replied when asked about the event in his hometown.
“I love seeing people getting exposure to a game that has given so much to me,” he added.
“If we can get even just one kid wanting to come back and play again, I would be very happy.”
