Local emergency services brightening birthdays

The Alberton, Chappell, Emo And LaVallee Fire Departments are offering a service to brighten the day of a child’s birthday.

All four departments are offering an “outside the box” idea for a child’s party.

The Departments hate to see kids missing their birthday parties with family and friends during these trying times, but appreciate everyone practicing physical distancing to help flatten the curve.

As as alternative for a party, they are offering to drive past your house with a fire truck on your child’s special day to help them celebrate.

The Firetruck visits are becoming an extremely popular event. To date, 11 kids have been visited by the fire department.

Kids are in for a big treat when they drive bye their home. Sirens, horns, lights flashing and even a visit from Sparky add to the fun and excitement.

Please feel or text or call Fire Chief Joshua Colling at 807-271-4230 to set something up.

Any residence in Township of Alberton, Chapple, Emo or LaVallee are eligible.

I have been told several kids have had this “special honouring” of their birthdays take place and they absolutely loved it.

Hats off to all involved in this event.

Makes folks happy to live in such a giving, caring community!

City boys might be fun for a week of quarantine.

But country boys know how to hunt, gather food and which leaves make the best toilet paper.
