The Muskie boys’ volleyball teams both endured marathon matches here yesterday.
Unfortunately, opposite outcomes resulted.
Trailing two sets to one, the juniors rallied for a 3-2 win over the Dryden Eagles to improve to 5-1 in NorWOSSA play.
But the senior squad lost 3-2 to the Eagles to drop to 2-4 in league action.
Set scores were unavailable at press time.
It was the same story in girls’ basketball yesterday.
The juniors improved to 6-0 with a 45-28 win over the visiting Eagles.
The seniors, however, remained winless (0-6) after falling 46-33 to Dryden.
Both basketball squads were scheduled to attend a tournament in Thunder Bay today and tomorrow.
The junior boys, meanwhile, were slated to head to Dryden for a tournament.
All four teams will resume NorWOSSA action here this Wednesday (Oct. 25) against Kenora before closing out the regular season Oct. 31 in Dryden.
The NorWOSSA playoffs are set for Nov. 7 in Kenora.
