Traditional dances and songs, as well as impressive regalia, such as this one displaying bustles of long eagle feathers, were all part of the celebration last Saturday during Couchiching First Nation’s 26th-annual pow-wow at the pow-wow grounds there. Some regalia has been passed down through several generations, eliciting great respect from spectators. The annual event was a time to meet and dance, sing, socialize, and honour indigenous culture.
