Chapple rec fundraiser coming up

The Chapple recreation council is holding a ham supper and silent auction on Saturday, May 31 at 5:30 p.m. at the Barwick Hall.
Admission is $10 for adults and $6 for children 10 and under. Tickets are available at the Chapple municipal office and rec council members, as well as at Cloverleaf and Tompkins Hardware in Emo.
Proceeds will go towards Chapple rec council projects.

You are invited to attend the Emo CIBC’s “Run for the Cure” annual barbecue on Friday, May 30 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Hotdogs, smokies, and pop will be served.

The Emo Legion is sponsoring an old-time dance on Saturday, May 31 from 8 p.m.-midnight, including polkas, square dances, waltzes, 2-steps, schottisches, butterflies, and many more.
This is brought to you by Bill Wepruk (accordion), Wayne Flatt (guitar), Sam Mitachuk (mandolin), and Glen Hart (banjo and vocals).

The Emo Figure Skating Club is hosting a spaghetti supper on Friday, May 30 from 5-8 p.m. at the Emo Arena, in association with the Emo Walleye Classic.
Tickets cost $12 for adults and $9 for children and seniors.
They can be purchased in advance at Tompkins Hardware, Village Variety, Corner Closet, and Meyers Clothing, as well as from EFSC board members.

If you are interested in playing slo-pitch this year, here’s your chance to join the Emo slo-pitch league.
They will be playing Monday through Wednesday, and you must be 15 years or older to participate.
To enter your team, call 482-1440 after 4 p.m. An information/rules meeting is taking place tonight (May 21) at 7:30 p.m. in the Back Alley Bar at the Emo Inn.

Registration forms are now available from Knox United Church in Emo for its summer camp, “Walking in God’s Way,” which will run July 7-11 at Sunny Cove.
It is open to kids aged eight (or entering into Grade 3 in September) to 14.
The cost is $120 per child, up to a family maximum of $300. Entries will be accepted on a first-come/first-served basis, with a registration deadline of June 15.
The “Sunshine Fund” is available for part or all of the registration cost.

Attention, men! Come join a faith-based men’s buffet breakfast, which takes place on the third Saturday of every month at the Emo Legion.
The cost is $10 per person, and includes listening to inspiring stories from guest speakers.
