It would be easier to predict the weather in Fort Frances a month from now than to score against Centra Pipelines at the moment.
Max Williams had the only goal of the game as Centra blanked CJ Contracting 1-0 in Borderland Soccer League men’s division action Tuesday night.
Williams is now tied with Chris Sinclair of Manitou Forest Products for the league goal-scoring lead with four.
Tyler Hamm earned the shutout in goal as Centra (4-0) moved back into first place ahead of idle Manitou (3-0-1).
The league leaders have allowed only one goal throughout their first four games.
Third-place CJ Contracting (1-4-1) then lost its third in a row last night when it had to forfeit to previously-winless Pharmasave (1-5) due to a lack of players.
No games are scheduled for tonight due to Fort High’s graduation ceremonies.
Action resumes Monday when Pharmasave plays Centra in the men’s division.
Al’s Racquet Stringing and La Place Rendez-Vous/Taggs, meanwhile, take their respective 1-1-1 records into battle against each other in the women’s division.
Both games begin at 7 p.m.
